Kayla Reay – Wollongong Artist

Hi, I’m Kayla!

Born and raised in the Illawarra, I run a small online business selling giftwares made from my pencil drawings of birds and flora. I sell a range of giftwares for all budgets – greeting cards, art prints, tea towels, tote bags, stickers and even Christmas ornaments. All of my products are proudly made in Australia, either in my Woonona home studio or with the help of other Australian small businesses.

My creative drive developed during my childhood in Wollongong, where I spent lots of time creating alongside my mother, exploring nature and bush walking. I remain an avid hiker and continue to take inspiration for my artworks on each of my daily walks. My art is driven by a desire to encourage connection and stories through the birds we hold a specific love for. Over the years, I’ve been so lucky to meet people who’ve engaged with my bird artworks as a means of storytelling, to share nostalgia or sentiment with others.
