Resin Brewing
Creating beer is our calling and there’s nothing better than sharing it with you. Here’s how we got started on this rollicking ride.
We weren’t always brewmasters. Once we were uni students. And one early morning at Stanwell Park, NSW, we just happened to meet surfing. Later that day we both rocked up to the same lecture at uni. Meant to be! Eighteen years on, we’re still mates.
We’re big on science, surfing and craft beer. Decades back, we each dipped a toe into home brewing. Fast forward: a few years ago we found we were in our element concocting brews together. Our obsession with the alchemy of brewing intensified. Soon, we were on a quest to brew beer worthy of the stunning South Coast.
You can brew only so much craft beer in a garage. We decided to spread our wings and build a phenomenal craft brewery, a place to create, perfect and share our brews with you. Resin Brewing was formed.
On the panoramic NSW South Coast, where the mountains meet the sea, we found the perfect location to make craft beer: Bulli Railway Guest House. Once derelict, this historic building on the train line dates back to 1887, previously welcoming tourists to the region with an abiding tradition of hospitality.
Resin Brewing bought the Railway Guest House site in 2017. We spent two long years transforming the crumbling, graffiti-scrawled building into the microbrewery and brewpub we dreamed of, with a design that conserves the rich heritage of the site.
Bit by bit, our dream for a contemporary family-friendly brewpub took shape, guided by a vision: to evolve Australia’s tradition of ‘the local’ into a community gathering place where everyone’s in their element.
In February 2020, armed with our first shipment of Australian-grown hops, we fired up our newly installed 10 Hectolitre (1000 litre) system and got brewing. Our first brew was Resinate IPA. If you’re among the lucky few who tasted our very first batch, you’ll understand completely when we say: Mmmmmm…
We craft beer by hand in small batches and we favour suppliers of like mind. In our brewery, we use Australian-grown artisanal malt from Voyager Craft Malt. And because not everyone’s a beer drinker (what!?) we’ve teamed with small batch specialist Carillion Wines on an exclusive wine list featuring the Rogue craft series.
On the 11th of March 2020, the Resin Flagship brewery and brewpub opened its doors to you and your mates. On the menu: natural, handcrafted brews we hope you’ll froth over just as we have. Oh, and bites to go with them.
We’re proud to welcome you to our brewery and brewpub. We’ve gone all out to make it a place where everyone’s in their element. And we can’t wait to see you and pour you a foamy one.
