And so is a month of fun, fun, fun!
There is plenty on offer in June with over 300 events to choose from, we’re spoilt for good times.
So, here’s just a taste of what’s happening in the Illawarra this month.

MEDIUM MOMENT // Ezio & Michelle De Angelis: Psychic Mediums
Husband and wife Psychic Medium team Ezio & Michelle De Angelis will be at Wests Illawarra on the 21st. You can grab your tickets online or at the club’s reception.
FOR THE CAUSE // Shine Like Charli Gala Ball 2024
Back for another year, this wonderful gala ball that unites the community to support families fighting childhood cancer is happening at Novotel Wollongong on the 22nd. Inspiring speakers, plenty of entertainment, delish food and free-flowing drinks are all included in your booking.
STRING IT UP // Reel Music Wollongong
Listen to the talented Steel City Orchestra as they play music from cinematic classics like Psycho, Cinema Paradiso, Pirates of the Caribbean and more. Very cool.
MAGIC IN THE WOODS // The Enchanted Forest
After being such a huge success last year we’re so happy to see this spectacle of light is back at Blackbutt Forest Reserve. It’s basically our very own mini Vivid and this year’s theme ‘Lost Astronaut’ sounds incredible. Grab tickets for the fam asap.
ARTY-PARTY // Paint and Sip
These creative sessions are always a hit and this one sounds super unique with the use of palette knives. Can’t go wrong with a cocktail on arrival and for sure stick around for karaoke afterwards!
CATCH A STAR // Stars of Wollongong – Dance For Cancer 2024
Now in its 9th year, this annual charity event brings local stars to the dance floor to raise money for the Cancer Council. Enjoy a night of fun, dancing [naturally], food, raffles, auctions, and spectacular entertainment, all in the name of supporting a cancer-free future.
LADIES LAUGH // She’ll Be Right – Winter Cheer
There’s a little bit of everything at these events held at The Servo in Port Kembla. Comedy, live music, cabaret and maybe even a little bit of circus. Make it through the darkest month with a good night of fun.
SPICE IT UP // Three-Course Balinese Cooking Class
Warm up in this colder weather with some hearty and delicious cooking with Jules from Balinese Spice Magic. Learn how to make a Balinese entree, main and dessert and then sit down and enjoy it all, mmmm.
GO THE BLUES // State Of Origin 2024
Here we go for another year of cheering on the blues! The first match will be on the 5th and the second is on the 26th. Nothing beats hitting up a local club or pub to get amongst it on the evening of the game. Carn NSW!!!
DARK SIDE // Comfortably Floyd
Get to the dark side of the moon with this Sydney-based Tribute Show to Pink Floyd. Rocking all our faves like ‘The Wall’ and ‘The Division Bel’, mark the 29th in your calendars and grab your tix stat.
TUNE IT UP // Blues & Brews 2024
After selling out both events the last 2 years, this night of music and bevvies is back at Resin Brewing for a third year. Artists Little Quirks, Shaun Kirk and Sunday Lemonade will all be bringing the melodies and of course, Resin will be bringing the top-notch brewskis too.
CREATIVE JUICES // Layered Landscapes 2-Day Workshop
Take some time out over the long weekend to tap into your creativity with this 2-day workshop at Sharon Blair’s private art studio in Kiama. The workshop is all about making unique collage papers. You’ll dive into mark-making, mixed media techniques, and layering to add depth and sophistication to your mixed media creations.
GIN AND VIBES // Distilled @ The Co-Op Gerringong
We are super intrigued by the sound of this 2-day event happening over the June long weekend. With live music, cocktails, gin tasting, and food trucks, it’s set to be a goodie.
PARTY IN THE VINES // Winter Wine Festival 2024
The folks at Crooked River Estate are turning it on again and we’re pumped for this year’s lineup. This one’s a highlight in the Illawarra festival calendar so make sure to grab your tickets before they sell out!
MINDFUL MOMENT // TALK2MEBRO Ladies Catch Up
This free monthly event is run by the team at Talk2MeBro and includes some yoga, breathwork and afterwards an ice bath or ocean swim. Make sure to bring some warm clothes for afterwards!
KICK IT IN KIAMA // Fine Wine Fest
Noughties legends and Aria award winners Sneaky Sound System will be headlining the stage at Kiama Pavilion on the 8th and we can’t wait! The event will also feature some of the South Coast’s fave wineries, love!
JAZZY GIN // GIN the Mood
Dapto Leagues Club and Wolf & Woman Distillery are joining forces for a night of jazz, delish eats and of course GIN! Tickets are limited so book in quick.
SHOW TUNES // Roxee Horror’s Musical Mayhem 2
She’s back for another round at the IPAC on the 14th with all our fave musical hits. Her last shows sold out so be sure to book asap.
FASTA PASTA // Pasta Night At Wests Illawarra
Skip cooking on Wednesdays this month and head over to Wests for their ‘Pasta Night’. Members can score a choice of 5 different types of pasta and garlic bread and a wine or softy for only 20 smackeroos! Buon appetito!
CRAFTERNOON // Sip & Pearl Jewellery Making Workshop
Head on over to Georgia Rose for their first-ever jewellery-making workshop. Create your own unique freshwater pearl jewellery pieces whilst sipping on a cocktail and noshing on nibbles.
CRAY CRAY FOR TAY-TAY // Shake It Off – The Taylor Swift Tribute Show
She’s taken the world by storm and Swifties can make the most of this Taylor Swift Tribute Show at The Oaks on the 15th. Mia Isoardi will be shaking it off for fans all night long.
BUSINESS TIME // Small Business Hub JUNE Networking Event
Meet other female business owners at The Coffee Club Café in Shellharbour on the 26th. Make connections, chat business and of course sip on a hot cup of java.
QUESTION TIME // Quizzame
We’ll admit we’re a team of trivia nerds here at The Fold and QuizzaMe at Wests Illawarra is the newest game night we’re keen to try out. It’s on every Thursday from 7pm with free entry and $100 in prizes to be won.
GARDEN GURU // Greenplan Plant Sale
Just like summer bodies are made in winter, so are summer gardens so make the most of the Wollongong Botanic Garden’s monthly plant sale on the 21st at the garden’s nursery in Keiraville. You’re sure to score a bargain on some local native plants.
FREE FILM // Friday Flicks @ Kiama Library
Every month Kiama Library hosts free monthly film screenings at 3pm for locals. The movies are often book-to-film adaptations, recent Australian releases, or just anything that looks interesting. Give them a buzz on 02 4233 1133 or pop into the front desk to find out what’s on this month.
WEDDING BELLS // Kiama I Do
The wedding trail is a fun and fresh way to hold a wedding expo, and if you’re planning your nuptials soon, it’s totally worth checking out. Five different venues around the Kiama region will be showcased, giving you a chance to see how a wedding ceremony and reception would be set up at each one.
OLE OLE // South Coast Sings ~ goes Latin
This event is a chance for singers of all ages and vocal experience to enjoy workshops exploring Latin Songs and Dance, Music Theatre and Latin Jazz styles. If you’ve never sung before but have always wanted to, now’s your chance!
LOL // Comedy For A Cause
Laugh your heart out at this comedy night to support Woonona Public School P&C held at Woonona Bulli RSL Club Auditorium on the 29th.
MOVE IT // Ecstatic Dance Wollongong
These monthly sessions at Coledale Community Hall are about using dance therapy as a self-healing practice and a form of meditation. No dance skills are necessary and it’s all about celebrating your inner freedom whilst having fun.
BIG HAIR AND SHOULDER PADS // Never Ending 80’s: Party Like It’s 1989
Don your fluoro, tease your locks and of course freshen up that mullet because the 80s are back! Party the night away at Towradgi Beach Hotel & Waves for a night that ‘like totally’ rocks!
