What’s On // Your Guide To Living Your Best Life In The Illawarra In February

Must Do’s, Don’t Miss Outs + You’re Nuts If You Don’t Go…

It’s the last month of summer… Boo!

But there’s soooo much to do, see and explore around the Illawarra this month… Yay!

Let’s make the most of Feb by getting amongst all the goodness we’ve got lined up.

We’ve trawled through our February Events Directory and there’s so much awesomeness in one spot! – so here’s our list of absolute must-dos for this month.

Get out and about, support local and have a crackin’ good time doing it!

ROMANCE IN THE AIR // Valentine’s Day

The universal day of love falls on a Friday this year and there are plenty of local events and venues to head to for a bit of romance and reconnection. Check out all the Valentine’s Day dinners, lunches and specials happening across the Illawarra here.

GET CRAFTY // Wax & Wicks + Paint & Sip at Wests Illawarra

Create your very own romantic candle with Wests Illawarra at their special Valentine’s Edition session on the 8th …complete with a complimentary cocktail/mocktail.

Or channel your inner Picasso at their Paint & Sip sesh on the 22nd. We always have a blast at these!

CAFE CULTURE // Get To Stokes Lane By Ruh

You know how they say brekkie is the most important meal of the day? Well, we reckon that’s doubly true when we get to have it at Stokes Lane By Ruh in Bulli. House-made pastries, iconic big breakfast feasts, and the all-important top-notch coffee.

If you haven’t paid this lovely local café a visit in a while, or if you’ve still got it on your ‘must eat’ list, then now’s the time. And whilst you’re there, say hello to the wonderful new owners who are passionate about the dishes they serve and the Bulli community they serve it to.

SHOW UP // The 2025 Berry Show

It’s back for another year of classic country fun. See all your agricultural faves like cows, horses and goats as well as the oh-so-exciting wood chopping. There’ll also be plenty of entertainment and yummy bites like food vans and a good old-fashioned BBQ. Catch ya there!

VINYL VIBES // Kiama Record Fair

The first Kiama Record Fair of 2025 is happening on the 1st and 2nd of the month at the Masonic Hall in Kiama.

Flip through endless rows of vinyl from local sellers, and hopefully, take home a few records to add to your collection.

Entry is free, and it’s family and pet-friendly, so your music-loving puppers can join in too!

HERE WE GO AGAIN // Mamma Mia! The Musical Party

Whether you’re a fan of the greatest thing to come out of Sweden [besides Swedish meatballs, obvs] or just adore the legendary musical starring screen goddess Meryl Streep, you’ve got to get yourself to HeyDay on the 1st to say ‘thank you for the music’ at their Mamma Mia! The Musical tribute party.

There’ll also be show tunes from other musicals plus Disney faves.

Grab your tix stat!

TO MARKET, TO MARKET // Albion Park Community Hub Market

Time to score some fresh new threads at this Albion Park market. With loads of women’s and children’s fashion on sale plus yummy food stalls..

We’re looking forward to the live fashion parade showcase happening too!

Bonus: this is an indoor event so we’re not gonna be relying on Mother Nature to keep it going, thankfully.

ALIGN AND HEAL // 2/2 Portal Sound Bath, Meditation & Energy Healing

Join Soulibrium for a Gathering Under the Powerful 2/2 Portal on the 2nd.

They’ll tap into the 2/2 Portal energy. We’re not exactly sure what that is, but we’re keen to find out.

Expect a guided meditation sound bath with crystal bowls, vocals, chimes, and more to help clear your mind and connect with your true self. There will also be hands-on group energy healing to ground and balance your energy, leaving you feeling peaceful and renewed

HA HA HAAAAA // ilu ilu Comedy Night

Monthly comedy nights are back on at this fab Indian inspired cocktail bar in Wollongong.

Each show features two local comedians and is a great way to get a giggle in [as well as some truly incredible drinks and bites] with your pals.

Bookings are recommended.

EXPLORE // Golf Courses In The Illawarra

We reckon the Illawarra has some of the most beautiful golf courses around.

From Clifton to Gerringong and everywhere in between, there are plenty of places to tee off, work on your swing, and most importantly, hit up the 19th hole [aka the clubhouse] at one of our local courses.

Check out our guide to golf courses in the Illawarra here.

TIME TO SAY GOODBYE // The ‘End of an Era’ event – The Collective Kiama

We’re straight-up devo that this special local marketplace will be closing its doors soon. Over the years, we’ve picked up countless treasures from here, from beauty products to pet treats, clothes, jewellery, and more.

Pop down on the 8th to say ‘see ya later’ to the crew and support all the amazing local vendors one last time.

VROOM VROOM // 2025 Motorfest

All you local rev-heads mark your calendar for the 15th to catch the 2025 Motorfest car show hosted by The Lions Club of Gerringong.

Not only will there be tons of cool cars to check out, there’ll also be food and drinks on site.

All proceeds go to the Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation, so it’s for a good cause!

GO GREEN // Sustainable Craft at the Library

We love the idea of getting creative whilst also staying eco-friendly.

That’s why these Sustainable Craft sessions held at Wollongong, Helensburgh, Corrimal and Warrawong sound so fun.

Learn how to turn recycled materials into cool, practical stuff and give old things a fresh purpose. Make sure to bring along a clean, old shirt so you can turn it into something totally unique.

KICK IT // Kells Kiama Sevens 2025

Can you believe this epic local rugby tournament has been going on for 53 years now? So cool!

Kicking off at Kiama Showground on the 22nd from 8am, this is such a fun event for anyone who’s a fan of the sport or even just wants to cheer on a local team as they smash those goals!

The amazing crew at Barstool Brothers are now hosting monthly meet-up events in Kiama

Hosted by the peeps at Cin Cin Wine Bar on the last Wednesday of each month, with free dinner included!

SUPPORT OUR SISTERS // WISE: Community

In partnership with Women Illawarra, WISE [Women Informed Supported Empowered] are focusing on supporting women 55 and over who’ve faced housing insecurity or isolation.

In their February session, attendees can learn new skills and connect with others. WISE is here to help reduce isolation, improve well-being, and link local women to services, resources, and opportunities to build social networks and boost education.

It’s free, but make sure to book your spot.

LEARN SOMETHING NEW // Workshops

There are deadset sooooo many incredible workshops happening all around the Illawarra this month we couldn’t just narrow it down to one.

From a Native Bush Food Workshop to a Canva and AI Workshop, Intro to Excel [sign us up], Memoir Writing and more. There’s something for every type of learner.

DAY FOR IT // Red Hot Summer Tour

It’s back in Berry, yaaaay!
