We’ve trawled through our February Events Directory and there’s so much awesomeness in one spot! – so here’s our list of absolute must-dos for this month.

With over 23 years of political satire experience, this revue is set to be stitch-giving giggles all the way. This year’s offering is the classic and well-loved “Pride in Prejudice” yep, that’s ‘in’ not ‘and’ and we can’t wait to get ‘in’ to it.
It’s back for another year of classic country fun. See all your agricultural faves like cows, horses and goats as well as the oh-so-exciting wood chopping. There’ll also be plenty of entertainment and yummy bites like a good old-fashioned BBQ by the folks from the Rotary. Catch ya there!
Hold on to your fascinators, hornbags, because Kath & Kim Drag Bingo is coming to town. It’s noice, it’s different, it’s unusual and you can play to win $1000 in cash and prizes. We have a feeling in our waters that this is gonna be a riot.
There’s so much support for climate action around the Illawarra at the moment and this event is making it a family affair. With FREE ice cream for the kiddos, face painting, craft events, info stalls, art installations, and local climate experts around to chat, this is a great way to get the whole gang involved in learning about saving our planet. Make sure to register your spot.
Celebrate this iconic rock band at Anita’s Theatre on the 16th with this loud and proud tribute show. Get down to all the Queen hits with lead singer and impersonator Gareth Hill and his awesome band of toe-tapping musicians. Tickets are still available through Anita’s website.
A fundraiser for a good cause + free-flowing wine, well sign us up! This fundraiser supporting the i98FM Illawarra Convoy and The Illawarra Community Foundation is set to be an afternoon of canapes, live music, guest speakers and a four-hour bevvie package all at The Illawarra Hotel in Wollongong.
This is the largest one-day Rugby Australia-sanctioned club tournament and it’s happening on the 24th at Kiama Showground. With over 44 teams, if you’re a fan of this fast-paced sport then this is one not to be missed. Pack a picnic and make it a whole family day out, we say.
Get your hands on jewellery, gemstones, minerals, opals, beads and even fossils at this rock swap on the 25th. If you’re down for a bit of the geo collection or if you’re just a little bit of a magpie [like us] then make sure to add this to the diary.
To spend a whole day celebrating the gift that is cannoli feels like a second Christmas to us. Our pals at Pasticceria Massimo Papa will be blessing locals with loads of family fun aaand a cannoli eating competition. ‘Scuse us whilst we start practising to become the 2024 Cannoli Champion… which has just now become our lifelong dream.
Come together at The Esplanade in Thirroul for a love fest by the sea. With loads of cool activities like Ice Baths [very cool hehe], live music, drumming performances, fire performances, meditation and food and market stalls this is one line-up worth checking out.
Karen Viggers is known for her bestselling book ‘The Orchardist Daughter’ as well as her podcast ‘Secrets from the Green Room’. She’s recently released a new novel ‘Sidelines’ all about the behaviour of parents on the sidelines of the sporting field. A very hot topic. She’ll be at Wollongong library on the 28th to chat and if you’ve never been to an author talk at one of our amazing libraries, we highly recommend them.
The universal day of love falls on a Wednesday this year and there are plenty of local events and venues to head to for a bit of romance and reconnection. Check out all the Valentine’s Day dinners, lunches and specials happening across the Illawarra here.

We’ve had Taylor Swift parties, Taylor Swift trivia, and NOW in the Illawarra, we’ve got a Taylor Swift-themed paint & sip experience. What’s next, a Taylor Swift-themed eye exam??!! Haha but seriously this sounds like a good time and will be happening at Wests Illawarra on the 24th.
Ever wanted to be able to belt out a tune without sounding like you’re a distressed duck? Us too! So, here’s your chance! This 6-week course will start at Dapto Ribbonwood Centre on the 15th, but places are limited so book soon.
After a four-year hiatus, comedy is back in The Basement Bar at The Builders Club. These monthly shows will feature some of the best Aussie comedy acts making the rounds across the country. This month prepare to get lol’d with headliner Dave O’Neill of Spicks and Specks fame as well as Madeleine Stewart, David Smiedt and Alex Jae. Tix start from $30pp and can be booked online.
The Nan Tien Temple will be opening its doors to celebrate the Lunar New Year from 6pm on the 9th all the way to 1am on the 10th. The evening will kick off with an international vegetarian food fair, followed by a blessing ceremony, incense offering and a tolling of the bell of peace to welcome in the new year.
If you’ve ever had the pleasure of eating at Balinese Spice Magic in Wollongong then you know just how incredible their food is. And if you haven’t, then what are you waiting for?! Mount Keira Scout Camp will be home to this full day of cultural activities on the 18th. This is scheduled to be a day filled with language, storytelling, art and native plants. An indigenous-flavoured lunch, morning tea and afternoon tea will also be included.
Okay let’s crown ourselves the rulers of February because at this stage our month is gonna be a royally good time!
