Places For Visiting Friends + Fam To Stay In The Illawarra

A list of accommodation options for when friends + family roll into town

We’re so excited that friends and family can visit us in the Illawarra again after a few years of lockdowns and uncertainty.

And while it’s awesome if you’ve got the space to host them at home, encouraging them to shack up elsewhere may also be a good idea from a social distancing point of view, and maybe you really don’t like your friend’s annoying new bae – totally understandable!

No stress, there are plenty of awesome local accommodation options to make sure our friends and family are reacquainted with the beautiful Illawarra in style and comfort!

From quirky to snazzy and everything in between, here’s a list of some of our favourite places for friends and family to stay in the Illawarra.

Beach Vibes

Beach House, Gerroa

It sleeps 10, is styled to perfection [like staying in an interior design magazine!], has an open fire, massive rear deck with a hot tub that overlooks the ocean and it’s a stroll to the sand of one of our fave beaches!

City Slickers

Stately Style

Ravensthorpe Guesthouse, Albion Park

A grand manor house with an additional cottage, this is how we’d imagine life in the [fancy] olden days would look. High tea, tennis court, chandeliers, beautiful antique furniture and a pool.

B+B By The Beach

Ocean Blue B and B, Stanwell Park

Choose from three suites in a house surrounded by a leafy, rainforest landscape, and take your full cooked breakfast out on the deck before wandering 600 metres down to the water’s edge for a morning dip.

When she’s not whipping up articles about all the fabulous things to do and people to meet in the Illawarra, she moonlights as a taxi driver, ferrying three teenagers around the countryside (and back again)! Penny has an uncanny knack for attracting snakes to whatever mountain biking trail she hits on the weekend, which is quickly followed by a cheeky chardonnay or G&T to get over said slithery encounter.
