It seems locals like to shop, brunch, take the puppers out and catch up with friends + fam over a bevvie or two.

It’s been a wonderful year here in the Illawarra.

After a few let’s say, interesting years, it’s been incredible to see local businesses thriving again and loads of our awesome events and celebrations up and running with full force. We’ve loved sharing the places to go, the people to meet, and the amazing stories of the Illawarra with you all.

Of course, the end of the year is a good time to get retrospective and have a look at what you loved reading about on The Fold.

So, here are our top ten articles of 2024.

Every week we shared some picks for weekend fun in the Illawarra, and every week locals turned to it for inspo and ideas. We’ll admit, the hardest part was narrowing it down because there’s always so much good stuff happening!

We definitely scored some bargains this year. From sangas to sushi, pies, pizza and even Greek food, we hunted down the deals. And you know we’re always on the lookout for more, so here’s hoping we find even more specials next year!

If you have coeliac disease or a gluten intolerance, finding a tasty, gluten-free meal can be a real challenge.

After putting together a list of coeliac-friendly options for locals, we are thrilled to see it getting read and put to good use.
