We experienced the most epic facial here and now we can’t stop talking about it.
We recently experienced a much-needed ‘treat yo’ self’ moment and enjoyed a facial at Tonic Skin Wellness in Wollongong, and just quietly… it was so much more than a ‘facial’, it was a top to toe treatment [literally] and it was out of this world.
After our appointment, we left feeling radiant and utterly blissful all over. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of magical, and we’re already planning our next visit!

1 :: Heaven from the moment you walk in
From the second we stepped through the doors into Tonic Skin Wellness on Kembla St, we were impressed. The space is designed to envelop you, and we couldn’t help but feel joyfully elated for all the skin goodness we knew was to come. The front space is airy and bright, filled with soft textures and calming pink tones.
The handpicked linen sheets on the treatment room beds were sooo comfy that it was like lying on a cloud, and the room was deeply lit with beautiful background music to create that cosy, warm vibe.
Oh, and don’t even get us started on the smells—talk about divine! Tonics’ signature scent is made from the highest-quality essential oils, and we’re wondering if we could bottle it and take it home.
2 :: The friendly and knowledgeable therapists
We were greeted by Jo Jones, the owner and head therapist at Tonic. Jo was so friendly and welcoming, which immediately made us feel relaxed and excited for our treatment ahead.
Jo has loads of experience and knowledge about skin and really took the time to chat with us about what we were looking for in our treatment. We talked about our specific skin issues and what we expected to get from the facial. Jo then guided us through the steps of the process and told us what would happen. She has so much knowledge about the different layers of the skin and the benefits of each element of the facial, we were blown away.
If you’re new to facials or even a veteran of the skincare game, meeting and working with someone like Jo is an ideal way to ensure you’re getting fantastic results in a soothing and comfortable space.
3 :: The range of treatments
The team at Tonic Skin Wellness focuses on making sure that every facial experience is unique. We went for the 90-minute Glow Facial, and boy, was it bliss!
The Glow facial was full of relaxation and rejuvenation with deep cleansing, enzyme exfoliation, and a customised Dermalux LED treatment. It also included an AMAZING massage for the face, neck, and decolletage, as well as gua sha. It was our first time getting gua sha-ed, and we can totally see why it’s all the rage; it felt incredible.
Jo also added some LED light therapy, which is designed to rejuvenate and energise your skin.
And to make us feel extra special, we were treated to a lovely hair mask, too. The mask treatment came with the most luxurious head massage, even better than those amazing ones you’re treated to at the hairdressers if you can believe it.
There are a range of other gorgeous treatments we are so keen to go back and try including Grounding Facials, Wellness Facials, Energising Facials as well as skin treatments, collagen induction therapy and specialised beauty services.

Tonic Skin Wellness are committed to using low-tox, eco-friendly products throughout the whole salon. Even their water is filtered!
Everything Jo used on us gave off a beautiful natural scent, and we could tell it was of the highest quality.
Tonic Skin Wellness also stocks a fantastic range of products to shop whilst you’re there, and we walked away with some goodies to keep that spa feeling going at home.
After we finished our facial, we were given a warming Mayde Tea and a yummy treat. Can you imagine a better way to end such a dreamy experience? We can’t!
