Keep The Kids Busy + Active With Our Pick Of Awesome Things To Do In The Illawarra During The September School Holidays.

Whether you love them or you can’t wait for them to be over – school holidays are approaching and approaching fast!

And after another busy school term, we are VERY ready to get outside and…

Have.

Some.

Fun.

As always, there’s plenty for kids to see, do and sign up for in the Illawarra to keep them busy, active and happy.

And here’s seven of our picks to help get you started with your school holiday schedule!

1 :: Spring into Spring at the Circus

Let your kids release their inner circus star with Circus Monoxide’s school holiday program. Your kiddos will have fun trapeze-ing, tumbling, tight-wire walking and juggling whilst also building confidence and making new friends.

The program runs through the whole school holidays with options to book for just a whole day or even a week, so fun!

2 :: Wollongong Art Gallery School Holiday Program

There are loads of fun art workshops running for the kids this school holidays at Wollongong Art Gallery. Drawing, painting, collage and even coil pots, it all sounds great. Make sure to book a spot so no one ends up disappointed.

3 :: Get sporty

If your mini-me is super active, a sports clinic, class or workshop running around like greyhounds [+sleeping soundly at night].

Wollongong Wolves will be running their popular Spring Holiday Football Program, keeping that Women’s World Cup 2023 energy rolling. PCYC in both Bulli and Lake Illawarra are holding some super fun, body movin’ activities so check ‘em out.

You can also sign the kiddos up for the Merrigong Creative Camp for a touch of theatre.

4 :: Teddy Bears Picnic At Shellharbour

If you go down to the Shellharbour Civic Centre on the 30th September, you’re in for a big surprise! Cos every bear that ever there was will be heading there for the Teddy Bears Picnic. There’ll be face painting, crafts, roving bears, story time, dancing and a bear hunt – sounds like so much fun!

5 :: Head Out For Doughnut Deliciousness

School holidays are for yummy treats and this article we put together on Where To Find Delicious Doughnuts in the Illawarra will totally have you covered. There’s 14 spots listed – one for each day of the holidays!

6 :: Action-packed Fun At Treetop Arts

There’s a whole lot of fun to be had – and energy burned! – at the Treetop Arts holiday workshops. Kids will be kept busy and have a whole lot of fun with craft activities, ninja obstacal course, aerials and circus skills.

7 :: Dance, dance, disco, disco!

So many venues around the illawarra are hosting discos and dance parties so our little ones can get their groove on.

Check out the Spring School Holiday Glow Disco at the Fraternity club on the 4th or the School Holiday Disco at Warilla Sporties on the 11th.

Wollongong Library and Dapto Library are both throwing Disco Dance Parties on the 1st for kiddos aged 5-12.

Turning the bounce up Flip Out in Albion park is throwing a After Dark Light Party with bouncing beats and epic lights.

And if you’ve got a youngster who’d prefer to make the music then they will love the trash percussion workshop happening at Corrimal Library.
