Wollongong Harbour ~ Land & Sea CleanUp with WMW

It is one of those occasions where we get to do some good and have fun in the process!

This year Again Women Make Waves in joining forces with a whole bunch of awesome organisations and people to get Wollongong Harbour the little nudge it needs to be a sweeter spot for our marine fauna, flora and us to enjoy.

𝙅𝙊𝙄𝙉 𝙐𝙎 9𝘼𝙈 𝙎𝘼𝙏𝙐𝙍𝘿𝘼𝙔 5 𝙈𝘼𝙍𝘾𝙃 𝙁𝙊𝙍 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙒𝙊𝙇𝙇𝙊𝙉𝙂𝙊𝙉𝙂 𝙃𝘼𝙍𝘽𝙊𝙐𝙍 𝙇𝘼𝙉𝘿 & 𝙎𝙀𝘼 𝘾𝙇𝙀𝘼𝙉𝙐𝙋!

The Wollongong Community is uniting to clean Wollongong Harbour and its surroundings.

𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚 𝙖𝙩 𝘽𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙤𝙣 𝘽𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝, 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙎𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙮 𝘽𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝, 𝙎𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝙤𝙛 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙋𝙤𝙤𝙡 – 𝙄𝙣 𝙒𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙃𝙖𝙧𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙧.

Event Schedule:
• Meeting: 9 am for registrations & Briefing

• Bring your team
• Start your clean-up
  (See Team information below)
• 11.30 am – All teams start walking back to the registration point to consolidate the waste.
• BYO Sunscreen, Water, Gloves and Hat

Join your favourite clean-up crew:

For Surfers and Ocean Warriors, join Women Makes Waves and Surfrider Foundation

Grab your surfboard and join us to support the freedivers from the surface

We will be helping them with the waste they find at the bottom and relaying it to the land. And we need quite a few hands for it, so we hope you’ll join us

Bring your team or socialise to find a cleaning buddy!

You can go wherever you’d like. We recommend focusing on the Northern breakwater of Wollongong Harbour and the Blue Mile Pathway.

SAFETY FIRST, WE NEVER DIVE ALONE.
You must be part of Wollongong Freedivers OR UOW Scuba Diving club to join. There will be a safety briefing prior to entering the water – Please get in touch with one of the organisations directly – for more information.

𝙑𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙍𝙤𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝘾𝙡𝙪𝙗 𝙤𝙛 𝙒𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙤𝙣𝙜 to help take care of the Cleanup Warriors!
Be there at 8 am for set-up.
