Guide To Happy Hours In The Illawarra

18 excellent spots for a happy hour or two around town

Whether you’re unwinding after work or kicking off the night, we’re all about a good happy hour here in the Illawarra.

We’ve gathered some fantastic drink deals from around the towns and suburbs, so locals can enjoy their fave sips without breaking the bank.

From wallet-friendly wines to budget-friendly beers, there’s something for everyone to get their lips around.

Here’s where to find the deals:

Beaches Hotel: Monday to Wednesday from 3:30pm to 5:30pm you can grab $6.50 beers. Monday is also $20 steak night, yeah boy! 

Resin Brewing: Monday – Friday, pints at schmiddy prices at this popular brewpub in Bulli. In the sunny months, we love kicking back on the deck with a happy hour brewski here.

Headlands Hotel: How good do Sundays sound with these Sundowner Terrace specials?! From 4-6 pm, treat yourself to $12 selected cocktails, $20 charcuterie platters, $5 happy hour drinks, all while enjoying beats from a live DJ.And if you happen to find yourself at Headlands any other weekday between 4 – 6pm you’ll also be able to nab $5 house beers, wines and bubbles, double woo!

Wolf and Woman Distillery: Open every Friday and Saturday with happy hours from 5pm – 6pm on Fridays and 1 – 2pm on Saturdays. We’re also suckers for their regular cocktail specials… Gin us up, baby!

 

Corrimal Hotel: Every Friday you can knock back a couple of frothy Great Northern schooeys at Happy Hour prices. Friday is also members draw night, so maybe sign up whilst you’re there and go in the draw to win some cashola.

 

Towradgi Beach Hotel: Any visit to TBH is a happy one but it’s even more joyful on Monday to Friday from 3pm – 6pm when you can sip pints for the price of schooners on all local tap drinkies. TBH Fridays are also fab for live music, 2 for $25 cocktails, $6 Pirate Life schooners and $7 voddies.

Cabbage Tree Hotel: This iconic Illawarra pub has seen some changes over the years and we’re super keen for their daily happy hour. On weekdays from 4 – 6pm, they’re slinging pints for schooner prices.

Humber: There’s a steady stream of happiness flowing every Wednesday through Sunday at this rooftop bar in Wollongong. Weekdays bring beer, wine and cocktail specials from 3 – 6pm. Thursdays get even more festive with cocktail and beer jug specials from 3pm onwards. Plus, weekends are all about bottomless brunches, so the sipping goodness never ends!

The Illawarra Hotel: Happy hour every weekday from 4pm to 6pm. Thursdays also have $15 buckets until late and on Sundays it’s $20 cocktail jugs from 12-8pm plus live music from 3-6pm, yay! 

The Iron Yampi: Just one of the many cool eating and drinking joints popping up on Wentworth Street in Port Kembla. Happy hours here on weekdays from 4pm – 6pm. Also, Schnitzel Sundays where 25 smackeroos will get you a schnitty, slaw, chips and a drink of choice.

Club Windang: Now this is a cheapie. Every Wednesday from 4:30 – 6:30pm it’s $4.50 schooner tap beers and $3.50 150ml house wines. Wednesday is also the $8.50 schnitty night, so there’s your next cheap date night secured!

Wests Illawarra: Members happy hours on Wednesdays and Sundays with 25% off draught beer, house wines and softies. Yay!

Georgia Rose: Brews and views, yes, please! $6 tap beers as well as house and sparkling wines every weekday from 3pm – 6pm. And on Sundays from 3 – 6pm, it’s vinyl DJs, $10 beer pints and $25 cocktail jugs to end the weekend just right.

Little Betty’s: Every Friday and Saturday you can make the most of the weekend with $15 Margaritas, Espresso Martinis and Amaretto Sours. We’ll take one of each thanks! 

The Hungry Monkey: Make The Hungry Monkey in Kiama or Thirroul, your go-to spot on a Wednesday with $10 cocktails from 4pm – 6pm, $5 tap beers, wines and spirits AND $12 burgers. Yep, yep and more yep!

Well, we know where we’ll be for the next few nights at least. Sipping up all the savings!
