20 Spots For An Instaworthy Brunch In The Illawarra

What’s better than a drool-worthy brekkie or brunch? One that’s so darn good looking, you just have to take a pic for your Insta feed, right?

We went on the hunt for some sexy looking dishes and came up with the goods. Check out these local cafes for some pretty spectacular plates of deliciousness that will totally trick up your feed.

Noel and Gladys, Thirroul

These guys have a bit of everything going on – homewares, fashion, workshops – and their good taste flows over to what they serve up in their café. Hello honey and banana buttermilk crumpets!

Stacks Eatery, Kiama Downs

Sure, kickarse burgers and loaded fries are right in their sweet spot, but Stacks also have a killer brekkie menu with waffles being the highlight for us. Pretty AND tasty!

Lee and Me, Wollongong

Long time local favourite (they’ve been here since 2008) Lee and Me is also licensed so if you’re up for a boozy brunch, you know where to head.

Opus Coffee Brewers, Wollongong

We love how the food, coffee, décor and their Insta feed all has a little bit of sass about it. Killer coffee and their burgers, bagels, toasties and more totally have you covered for brekkie and brunch.

Sketch at Coledale

There’s art on their walls (yep! It’s a gallery too) and art on their plates. Head to Sketch for a feast for the eyes and tummy.

Penny Whistlers, Kiama

Seaside vibes with one of the best views in town! You’ll be hard pressed to decide on whether to take a pic of the view or your brekkie – do both, we say!

The Garden, Berry

Fab art on the walls, delicious food on your plate, gorgeous décor and a doggo-friendly courtyard if you fancy dining outdoors……head to The Garden for your quintessential Berry brunch experience. How good does this Shakshuka look?

Three Brothers, Kiama

Always jumpin’ with a fun buzz, this family-owned café serves up some pretty fab juices as well as yummo brekkie and brunch options, as you can see from this table of goodness!

Bull & Bear, Wollongong

Fancy your brunch with a side of Spain? Head to Bull & Bear for contemporary Aussie brekkie dishes tricked up with some Spanish influences and flavours like the El Moro – a veggie option with halloumi, hummus, eggplant relish, dukkah eggs and flatbread. Yum!

Sea Vista Café, Gerringong

Ooooh yeah, plenty of pastries and baked treats to get your tastebuds activated here. And hellooooo, you had us at Lamington Croissant!

The Broken Drum, Fairy Meadow

The team at this espresso bar sure know their way around coffee and have got some seriously delish brunch and brekkie options on offer too, including this super healthy bircher. Love a guilt free brekkie option!

Milk and Honey, Kiama

Light, bright and breezy….just the way we like our cafes. Especially when they serve up pancake stacks like this! (oh, and try a smoothie while you’re there – sooo good and super colourful!).

Austi Beach Café, Austinmer Beach

Brunch by the beach – we’re in! And aren’t these poached eggs just asking to be poked so they can spill all their gooey goodness over that yummo avo, feta and tomato toast? Okay – we’re crazy hungry now.

Lili J Café, Wollongong

We love this funky space and the personality of the team here – so much fun! We’re also loving the brunch options that range from avo toast through to BLAT croissants (yep!). Super pupper friendly too.

Diggies, North Beach Wollongong

A whole lot of deliciousness, with a side of stunning views?

Industri Café, Wollongong

The team at Industri do fresh, zesty and colourful so well – they’ll brighten up your Insta feed for sure. Lovin’ this sourdough stack of goodness!

Honest Don’s, Thirroul

Sit at the window bench and watch the world go by while you chow down on some housemade gluten-free granola – super delicious (and pretty!).

Stokes Lane Café, Bulli

What’s better than banana bread? Banana bread piled high with berries and icing sugar. Yeah baby!

Bulli Beach Cafe

With one of the best views in the Illawarra and a crankin’ brekkie menu, this is a firm local favourite. Great kids menu and kickarse coffee. Tick. Tick. Tick. And tick.

Breakfast Brunch Bulli Beach Cafe

Evil Eye Café, Fairy Meadow

Mediterranean influences, bright and fun décor, and some fab customer service combines to serve up some pretty Instaworthy brekkie options! We reckon the Breakfast Spread (for 2 or 4 people) is the easiest way to get a little taste of everything – sooooo good!

When she’s not whipping up articles about all the fabulous things to do and people to meet in the Illawarra, she moonlights as a taxi driver, ferrying three teenagers around the countryside (and back again)! Penny has an uncanny knack for attracting snakes to whatever mountain biking trail she hits on the weekend, which is quickly followed by a cheeky chardonnay or G&T to get over said slithery encounter.
