Outsourcing Christmas Lunch In The Illawarra

How To Have A Low Stress + High Vibe Christmas In The Illawarra

It really is the most wonderful time of the year, but gee it’s also a lot of work!

All that organising, prepping and cooking is enough to send even those high up on Santa’s ‘Nice List’ into a tiz.

Well, take a deep breath guys, because we’ve put together a list of venues to make your Chrimbo a whole lot easier this year. Whether you plan on going out or hosting at home, we’ve got some fab options to make sure you’ll spend less time on the run and more time with the rum….balls, obviously.

CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH

No standing over a hot stove and no washing up….bliss!

We’ve got some mighty impressive restaurant options for the big day AND you can click here to be taken through to a big list of local venues offering up something spesh for Christmas Day.

We like the sound of Wests Illawarra’s Christmas Lunch, especially the ‘Build Your Own Pavlova’ part, nom nom nom!

Headlands Hotel is putting on a Christmas feast again this year and so is Towradgi Beach Hotel.

Balgownie Hotel is throwing it back to Christmas days gone by with their roast meats and twinkly lights.

We love the sound of Christmas by the beach at Novotel Wollongong Northbeach. You’ll enjoy seafood, roast meats, veg, salad and decadent desserts. It is also a great family-friendly option with children’s gifts, activities and a visit from Santa.

Or you could go Greek with Christmas at Zeus’s Bar & Grill, an all you can eat buffet of Hellenic heaven.

NOT QUITE CHRISTMAS

‘Twas the night before Christmas…. Or maybe the week before… and all the blended families, vacationers, friend groups and in-laws organised their early Christmas hangs in the Illawarra and then had a fantastic time…..THE END!

Nothing says group bonding like belting out some jingles together at the Carols in MacCabe Park. Or get the crew creating with a Christmas Paint & Sip at Wests Illawarra.

A Very Co-Op Christmas in Gerringong on the 7th sounds like a merry time. So do the Christmas Family Fun Days at the Illawarra Yacht Club and Warilla Hotel

Also in Warilla, Sporties are holding a big party on the 14th, fab for the work crew. As would the Jingle and Mingle party at The Novotel

We’re drooling over the sound of the Christmas Dinner at Crooked River Wines on the 21st. Plus so much more Chrissy goodness in our directory.

OUTSOURCE IT, BABY!

Many of our well-loved local restaurants and catering businesses have [or will soon be releasing] their Christmas catering menu.

Villa D’Oro now taking orders for Christmas catering. Hooray! They’ve got all their classic pasta dishes plus meats, sides and desserts.

If you haven’t seen this year’s Christmas catering menu from m2 Kitchen, then seriously have a loooook! 3 courses + the option to add on cocktails or mocktails… amazing! Orders closed 5pm, 22 December.

Say Cheese Grazing & Co. have some divine looking grazing platters, perfect for noshing the day away.

Moving on to the sweet side of things, Cakes by Adrienne have some almost-too-beautiful-to-eat Christmas cakes available this year.

All those adorbs holiday choccy goodies we love, like mini puddings and trees, are back at The Treat Factory, yay!

Taylor’s Healthy Grocers have their dairy-free, gluten-free or vegan puddings back so everyone in the fam can have a slice.

And were OBSESSED with the whole range of Christmas gelato cakes available to order at Cow And The Moon

Head to our directory to check out more local caterers making fresh eats all year round.

BUBBLES, BREWS + BOTTLES OF FUN

Need a tipple or two …..Like who doesn’t at Christmas? Let’s keep the theme going and support our local liquor vendors this year. Insider tip: They’ve actually got some of the best and most unique drinks around town so you’ll be the one who’s winning.

Check out this comprehensive list of local breweries, distilleries, wineries and bottle shops to hit up.

Oh, and we think a bottle of something yummy from Tara Distillery would not only make a top Christmas tipple, but a wonderful gift as well.

Phew, Christmas is sorted. Now go pop on a Santa hat, bust open a cracker and crank the carols!

Merry Christmas!!
