Alysha de is a musical project that aims to utilise music’s power to heal. Influenced by talents like Crumb, Cigarettes After Sex and Men I Trust, Alysha’s music is evolving across genres into a unique and soothing style. Through the support of her studio band, Faisal, Harry and MJ, her latest works are being released this year.
Alysha de returns to her hometown in the Illawarra with honours in contemporary music and new music to share. ‘Broken’ showcases a unique style of layered acoustic arpeggios and siren like harmonies. The song dramatically introduces the artist, with angelic melodies overlaying a haunting modal chord progression.
Alysha tells a moving story about overcoming pain, paralleled by the song’s dramatic contour. If the upcoming album Loftus St follows suit, we should expect dreamy layering of synths, vocals and guitar for a light experience of emotion and rhythm.
The recording features friends MJ Whyte on the drums and Faisal Hussain on bass, exercising precision and restraint to delicately ground the track and provide a relaxed groove. ‘Broken’ is available to pre-save now through the link below, so you’ll be able to hear the full studio version for the first time.
